It`s not been a good start to the day has it?

Friday is a day we all wait for, the weekend is almost upon us and we`re all supposed to have cheery suppositions.

But the news that there could be serious tensions developing between the board and Antonio Conte hasn`t seen the day start well.

But, it`s getting worse!

Lurking in the well-respected news source, The Times, is the insinuation that all is not well when it comes to the on-going contract talks between Thibaut Courtois and Chelsea Football Club.

Apparently, the contract talks involving the keeper who claimed the Premier League Golden Gloves Trophy during our title winning season and the club, have stalled.

Twenty-five-year-old Courtois is on a deal that still has two-years to run and is said to be on £100,000 a week.

Recognising the need to tie the Belgian international to the club, Chelsea want to offer the keeper a new deal.

However, our source is of the opinion that Courtois is hankering for a deal that will see him catapulted into the £200,000 a week bracket, something the club, so far, have declined to match.

Naturally, in such situations, negotiations will be on-going, but it is still cause for concern for those who view Courtois as our long-term goalkeeper.
