Taunted by the continual mocking chants of No History, No History, suggests that your average Liverpool fan may have, despite us suggesting otherwise, received an education.

However, whilst it may appear that History is their favourite subject, perhaps they should be looking towards another educational subject that may well offer them far more objective employment. Mathematics!

Now that the furore over their narrow semi-final victory appears to be dying down perhaps, with the suggestion that Tubby Benitez has worked out how to beat Mourinho gaining momentum, they?d like to consider the following harsh facts with regard to their recent performances on the sports field.

In the ten meetings between the two sides, Liverpool have managed to win on only two occasions whereas Chelsea have managed to win on five occasions. The other three have seen the spoils of war shared.

In mathematical terms, Liverpool have a successful performance rating of 2/10 which equates to a 20% success rate whereas Chelsea have a successful performance rating of 5/10 which equates to a 50% success rate.

Even in a modern society where competitiveness is often frowned upon, you tell me where 20% can be considered a pass? Then you tell me who?s bottom of this particular class and who needs to put in a touch more sustained effort?
