Image for Guardiola looms as uncertainty surrounds Mourinho

As the pressure continues to mount on Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho following The Blues’ seventh defeat of the season Saturday to local rivals West Ham, the Chelsea manager has found his long term future questioned amid rumours that Bayern boss Pep Guardiola may soon become available.

The ‘Special One’ has been having a running battle with the authorities and found himself in hot water again after being sent to the stands during the 2-1 defeat at Upton Park, and bookies currently have Guardiola at 6/1 to take over.

6/1 reads entirely like b*llocks at the moment with Manchester City rumoured to be ahead in the pursuit of Guardiola but the grapevine now says the Spaniard is rumoured to be considering leaving the Allianz Arena at the end of the season for the Premier League, with reports in the Daily Mail yesterday suggesting he was keen to take charge of a London-based club – making Chelsea a likely destination.

Or could it be Arsenal, as it certainly isn’t Spurs?

However, Bayern’s captain Phillip Lahm has come out in support of his manager, claiming the whole team want him to stay.

Whether the two-time Champions League winner commits his future to the Bavarians at FC Hollywood by signing a contract extension remains to be seen; at the moment one will just have to wait and watch the drama unfold. One thing is certain though – something will have to give at some point if the poor results at Chelsea keep coming.

What that will be is anyone’s guess although Jose’s odds with the bookies, in this moment, isn’t even comforting.
