As we await the big-match against Arsenal this Sunday, it has been interesting this week monitoring our thoughts relating to the long-term future of Eden Hazard.

The common consensus of opinion is that many of you believe that the 26-year-old Belgian international could be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2018.

This is a theory that is being borne out by a popular news vehicle, Goal who are championing the suggestion that the Spanish giants of Real Madrid are ready to flex their financial muscles next summer.

Our referenced source is suggesting that not only are Real Madrid set to target Eden Hazard but are also willing to spend big to land the Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea, as well.

With the transfer market status quo having been ripped apart by the sale of Neymar Jnr, from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, it`ll be interesting to see what kind of fee Hazard commands.

After the disastrous 2015 / 2016 season, Hazard inferred that he wouldn`t leave Chelsea Football Club until we`d won the Premier League again, he kept his promise.

This summer, as we`re all aware, Hazard was injured, recuperating from a fractured ankle, did that injury stall any prospect of a move this summer?

Or, as some suspect, is the talented winger desperate to win the Champions League with Chelsea and is intent on doing just that this season before he moves on?

Whatever happens, I`m just grateful that a player who really is our jewel-in-the-crown has worn our famous shirt and has provided some remarkable memories.
