Jose Mourinho had plenty to say at the press conference ahead of the clash with Tottenham tomorrow.
From the moment he walked into the packed room, he had the journalists enthralled.
From the off Mourinho had the answers starting with a quip relating to the time Spurs last won at Stamford Bridge with a journalist asking (but not being given time to finish before Jose cut him short)
‘The last time Tottenham won at Stamford Bridge, Gary Lineker scored the winner.’
With Jose`s instant retort being,
‘Tomorrow he can’t.’
And the conversation continued when Mourinho was asked whether John Terry will stay at Chelsea at the end of this season, with Jose replying,
‘At this moment you start the speculation, nobody else did.”
With the journalist trying to eek out another angle suggesting JT is younger than Steven Gerard or Frank Lampard, Jose responded,
‘It is not the time to speak about it but he knows what I think and feel, the board also knows – and I don’t feel the need to share with you.’
Fantastic stuff!
And when someone dared to mention the name of Frank Lampard, Jose retorted,
Frank Lampard’s name is mentioned but the interrogator doesn’t even get chance to finish his question.
‘He is a former player.’
‘I don’t speak about former players that play at clubs who have the same objectives as we have.”
‘When I speak about former players, I speak about former players who have finished their careers, but not Frank. At this moment he plays against us.’
Superb stuff, just a shame it wasn`t televised live across a terrestrial network, the entertainment is that good.
