Lampard’s Request To Take A Third Chelsea Youngster On Loan Is Rejected

|

Up at Pride Park, in his first managerial role, Frank Lampard is making a pretty decent start to what many perceive as the long road to, possibly managing Chelsea Football Club.

Derby County are in the race for promotion to the top-flight, ably assisted by two Chelsea youngsters, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori, who are on season-long loans at the club.

According to the media source, the Independent, Lampard was interested in adding a third Chelsea youngster to his squad as he looks to bolster their promotion bid whilst the January transfer window is open.

However, it appears that despite his Chelsea connections, Lampard was unable to convince the Chelsea hierarchy to let him take the talented defensive midfielder, Ethan Ampadu, on loan.

If our source has its facts correct, then it would seem that Chelsea have plans of their own for the eighteen-year-old Welsh international in the second half of the season.

As the fixture list gets more congested by the day, is it safe to assume that youth is finally set to get its chance at Stamford Bridge?
