So here we are, I`m back on English soil just in time for the 2017 / 2018 Premier League season to begin.

My batters, just like those of the Chelsea squad, are fully charged and raring to go.

After a run of pre-season results that weren`t sufficient enough for the Chelsea support to be dancing in the street, what with losses to Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Arsenal, albeit by penalties, in the Community Shield, hopefully Antonio Conte will have gotten the squad together and fully ready for the big kick-off, as we face a determined Burnley side at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

As is always the norm, we`re running our Match Day Moments feature whereby we give you the opportunity to have your say on a number of subjects including, but not limited to,

1 The build-up to the big game.

2 The starting eleven as selected by Antonio Conte.

3 – The action as it happens down at Stamford Bridge.

4 – Your views in the period between the final whistle being blown and the match report appearing on this site.

Let`s hope we`ve all got smiles on our faces come the final whistle.

  • Just heading off for the game and really excited. I’m expecting a team of Courtois- Rudiger- Luiz- Cahill- Azpi- Alonso- Kante- Fabregas- Willian- Morata and either Bats or Boga.
Morata has to start down the middle, it’s his position and he’s the nearest in style I’ve seen to the great king, Peter Osgood. Perhaps the Pedro injury has changed Conte’s plans regarding where Morata starts but Boga is very talented and might get a start on the left.
I’m looking forward to seeing Rudiger as I said over a year ago, that we should sign him. He’s a brilliant defender and I expect him to play right centre back with Azpi at RWB. I think Moses will find it difficult to get back in the starting line up.

  • I also expect this lineup @THEBREEZE. Though whit the players at hand and our problems in our last 3 games, I would like to see a 4-3-3, TC-Azpi, Luiz, Cahill, Rudiger-Fabregas, Christensen, Kante-Musonda/Boga, Morata, Willian

  • Hopefully the Fab+Kante duo can hold their own, i know its only Burnley, but still nervous about that midfield.

  • This game is not going to be easy for us cos no strong bench but I pray we get all the three points

  • Team: Courtois, Cahill(c), Luiz, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Alonso, Fabregas, Kante, Boga, Willian, Batsman.
Subs: Caballero, Christensen, Kennedy, Musonda, Morata.

  • Some strange call from Conte there opting to start academy graduate Boga over Alvaro Morata. Anyway I guess it’s good to reward those that impressed well at pre-season. So here wishing the boys the very best hoping they get a bit of everything including luck. KTBFFH!!!

  • Good to see Boga get a chance.. Morata is still building up his fitness and will surely start post a couple of weeks ..

  • Given it’s our first game of the season, I don’t expect it to be a walk in the park. However, I think we have enough quality to win this game. BTW, for those worried about our transfer activity, it has at least created some opportunity for our youngsters to play, that’s a positive, especially for those here who have been calling for integration of academy players. This is a good match to test some of them…

  • Thirteen(13) goals in just two(2) matches, this season looking like a tough one from the start. I doubt there’s going to be easy games for any of the big six or whoever that will eventually emerge as champion. Looking forward to an entertaining season hoping the mighty blues will dominate. KTBFFH!!!

  • Elsewhere other Chelsea players get debuts in their respective clubs about now. Loftus-Cheek in line to start for Palace while Tammy Abraham starts for Swansea among others. These valuable experience they would get is priceless if they make the most of it & come out stronger. KTBFFH!!!

  • Good to see Chelsea youngsters getting EPL experience. Kasey Palmer also starting for Huddersfield and Chalobah played 90mins for Watford…

  • Cahill didn’t even touch him just like the start to the 14/15 season when courtios got sent off against Swansea

  • What is it with these red cards, our players need to be more careful, now we have to sacrifice Boga. Come on Chelsea, we can do this…

  • last 3 games chelsea have played.. we have had a player sent off.. Chelsea looking all over the place.. Fab also yellow carded . Boga off for Christensen
