Oscar – When Will the Rest Come

Sat watching the coverage of the Brazil v England friendly last night, a feat made hard by the fact it was almost impossible to pick out the multi-coloured ball on the screen, the performance of one player caught my attention.

Oscar, who must have been playing close to his millionth appearance of the season, caused the England defence no end of trouble with his skills, control of the ball and ability to run at the defence.

At one stage, of the first half, it looked as if he`d earned a penalty when he went down under a challenge from our own Frank Lampard. Thankfully, for England supporters, the referee waved play on.

However, Oscar didn`t last the full game and when he was hooked off by Scolari the home crowd booed the decision, obviously recognizing Oscar`s contributions.

But what worries me is that with the Confederations Cup coming up, just when will this youngster get a well deserved rest before the new season starts?
