A few thoughts!
Were we spoilt during those heady days when the summer transfer window saw us procure players galore?
Have we disintegrated into an impatient rabble who are under the impression that it`s absolutely necessary to mass purchase at this time of the year?
Are we misguided in our belief that this summer was, and could still be, the ideal opportunity to overhaul a side that has gone stale and has become too easy to stifle?
Have we lost that sense of patience we were famed for when matters didn`t, or should that be never, went right in years gone by?
It certainly seems to be the case.
Following the victory over the Malaysian XI, Andre Villas-Boas re-iterated his mantra about not rushing into transfer talk when he commented,
“The fans want radical changes, but we are trying to put a halt to that. It`s valuable that we`re assessing things.”
“Daniel Sturridge, Ryan Bertrand and Patrick van Aanholt are back from loans and this has value – we are not taking decisions lightly.”
“We are pondering every decision because we don`t want to go into the market and make mistakes.”
Now that would make a change after looking back at how we`ve thrown money away with some very bad purchases!
