Roman and The Chelsea Legend

The vast majority of Chelsea fans love a feel good Frank Lampard story. One of Chelsea`s all-time greats, Lamps has done media work with BT Sport and the BBC, since hanging up his boots.

Super Frank has been doing his coaching badges, and has said he`d love to manage at the top of the game. Should he take the attitude he had as a player into football management, he can only be a success. For that to occur at Chelsea, would be a Utopian dream come true. The Sun are currently running a story suggesting that Lampard could be in line for a back room job at Stamford Bridge.

The article says that Roman Abramovich has been impressed with reports of Lampard`s coaching progress and is keen for him to become a part of Chelsea`s future.

The smart money is on Antonio Conte not being at Chelsea next season, and that change, should it come, will give the Russian an opportunity to integrate Super Frank into the coaching staff of the new setup.

That does add fuel to the fire to the possibility of Carlo Ancelotti returning to the Stamford Bridge hot seat. Lampard and Ancelotti were part of the team that won a league and cup double during the Italian`s first season with club. Failure to match that one-year-on and Ancelotti was out on his ear. It was one of Roman Abramovich`s most senseless decisions.

The style of football Ancelotti encouraged his team to play was at times sublime. In that first season Chelsea scored a Premier League record of 103 for a season. A record Manchester City are looking to break this season. He would be the ideal candidate, apart from Conte, to lead Lampard down a managerial path.

It would be great to see Super Frankie Lampard back at the Bridge in an official capacity, and at Vital Chelsea we can’t see any reason for him not to be anything but a success.
