Shock Exit At Chelsea Could Stun The Support

|

In midweek, the decision to send Ross Barkley out on a season-long loan, to Aston Villa, generated mixed reactions.

But could we be set for another loan decision that might have bigger ramifications?

Lurking in the pages of The Daily Star is the inference that faced with an abundance of midfield talent, Chelsea may opt to send Ruben Loftus-Cheek out on loan.

Loftus-Cheek, 24-years-of-age, has, in my view, struggled to make the desired impact since coming back from injury.

The powerhouse midfielder has not been influencing games he has played in as we hoped he would.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that on the last few occasions he has been selected the game has passed him by.

Now, whether this is purely a case of getting his sharpness back or whether the injury has had a debilitating effect on his career remains to be seen.

After his last spell out on loan, when he spent a season with Crystal Palace in 2017 / 2018, it was thought that Ruben, who has been at Chelsea since he was 8, would go on to become a mainstay of the starting eleven.

But, for the moment, it is not happening for the player.

Therefore, whilst it may be a shock to many, we have to ask whether a spell out on-loan might get Loftus-Cheek back to his competitive best.

Should Chelsea Send Loftus-Cheek Out On Loan This Season?

Yes!

No!
