As we prepare for our top of the table clash with Swansea City, we`ve rummaged through the record books and come up with a few statistics for you to mull over.
1 – In Premier League meetings with Swansea, Chelsea remain unbeaten having won 4 and drawn 2. When it comes to home games Chelsea have won all three contested.
2 – Last season both Premier League fixtures were close affairs with Chelsea winning both encounters 1-0.
3 – Swansea`s last league success, at Stamford Bridge, came way back in 1925, which incidentally was the first meeting between the two sides.
4 – The top of the table clash, on Saturday, is somewhat unique. It is only the second time in Premier League history that the top two sides have met this early in the season. The only previous time was when Chelsea met Spurs in August 2005, a fixture Chelsea won 2-0.
5 – So far in the Premier League season, Chelsea have scored 11 goals, last season it took Chelsea until the eighth Premier League game to hit that many.
6 – Cesc Fabregas has gotten off to a great start in our midfield, already this season he`s been credited with 4 assists, last season the highest number of assists were by Eden Hazard with 7 and Fernando Torres with 4.
7 – Swansea will arrive at Stamford Bridge not having kept a clean sheet away from home, in the Premier League, for almost a year. But on another note, Swansea have only conceded one goal in four fixtures this season.
