Swansea City v Chelsea – Early Team-News

|

Chelsea are down in South Wales, this Saturday afternoon, taking on Swansea City in a Premier League fixture.

Both sides will be looking to take the three points on offer at the Liberty Stadium, but for differing reasons.

Our hosts need the points to stave off the prospect of relegation whilst Chelsea need them to continue to harbour hopes of making a late-surge to earn a place in the Champions League next season.

Ahead of the game we’ve cobbled together some early team-news.

Starting with our hosts Swansea:

The Swansea head coach, Carlos Carvalhal, has several players struggling with injuries, namely, Federico Fernandez, Kyle Bartley and Luciano Narsingh, the first two are struggling with knee injuries whilst the third has an ankle problem.

On a positive note, Renato Sanches could return to the squad after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Continuing with Chelsea;

Marcos Alonso will be missing with the Spaniard serving the third game of a three-game suspension.

Gary Cahill is likely to retain his place in the back-three with Antonio confirming that the player is deserving of more game time.

Danny Drinkwater could also be back in the squad after recovering from a groin strain.

With regards to those on the injury list, Ethan Ampadu will not feature again this season as he recovers from his broken ankle.

Another player not available is David Luiz with the Brazilian currently troubled by an ongoing knee injury. Conte believes that it will be difficult for the player to play again this season although the player himself would beg to differ.

Can Chelsea take the three points on offer in this fixture?
