The Wheels of Justice Turn Very Slowly!

This week could be a monumental week.

After over two decades it now looks as if those who perished in the disaster at Hillsborough, the 96 Liverpool supporters who so tragically lost their lives before an FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest, will get some sort of justice, or at least their loved ones will.

It is expected that the Prime Minister, David Cameron, will make a speech, revealing the shortcoming of the authorities on that dreadful day thereby absolving those who packed into the Leppings Lane from any blame whatsoever.

Now many who are new to this game will maybe ask why it has taken so long!

Well it is quite simple really!

Anyone who followed their team home and away throughout the 1980`s will recall how the average football supporters was treated with disdain, of how we were treated as if we were an inferior class and how the smallest of criminal offences was turned into something akin to a national crime.

Yes, it was that bad!

So to all those who have fought continually for justice for the loved ones they lost, I sincerely hope that was is said this coming week will show the rest of the world that, despite how we were treated, what happened up at Hillsborough was both avoidable and that those who neglected their duties should be held accountable.
