Why I’m not dancing on Emenalo’s grave

I should be happy today but instead I`m deeply concerned.

Michael Emenalo is finally gone? and yet.

It`s the reason given for his departure in today`s Mail Online: apparently he`s fed up having to mediate between Antoniuo Conte and Marina Granovskaia.

And there was I thinking the two board directors were ganging up on The Don.

So what will now happen without the former Nigerian international defender as a buffer?

Put it this way, in a straight fight between The Don and The Tsarina there`s only one winner.

Which would be a tragedy: in all my decades as a Blue there`s never been a better managerial fit spiritually, strategically, you-name-itly.

Rumour has it that Emenalo is headed to Monaco – good luck to him.

He`s been part of the team that gave us three Prems, the FA Cup, the Europa League and the Champions League.

Even if (like me) you suspect we may have done even better without him, it`s quite an achievement.

One I hope we don’t come to rue in the months ahead.
