The story changed for the once the blue Messiah. Willian was never his self as he became sluggish and at times killed the fluency in the attack. He held on to the ball for too long and allowed opponents to recover before releasing passes to his team mates.
He lost the ball to opponents too easily and needlessly delayed the ball at his feet. He romanced the ball and caressed the ball like a mother caring for her baby.
At times, he wasted the runs of Hazard, Costa and Pedro when the team was pushing for goals.
I expect Willian to add more urgency to his game and stop romancing the ball when the attackers are on the move. I also expect Antonio Conte to work on him to learn how to link up team mates on time without a long dance on the ball.
