Although the intensity of the speculation relating to Chelsea signing the Arsenal midfielder, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has dropped, it appears the possibility of a deal could still be alive.

Lurking in the media source, The Telegraph, is the inference that all is not well at Arsenal for Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Our referenced source is reporting that the 24-year-old, despite Arsenal wishing to the contrary, is unlikely to sign a new deal ahead of further talks, relating to his future, that are scheduled for later this week.

If that is the case then Chelsea, or another Premier League club linked with the player, Liverpool, could move fast to sign the player, knowing that he`s not going to sign a new contract and that Arsenal, if the price is right, could be forced into a sale.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we`ll wait for the next instalment of this summer-long saga.
