A New Lease of Life!

Sometimes a change of manager can work wonders for a player.

Last season, having been signed for a huge fee for a teenager, something in the region of £18 million, Romelu Lukaku hardly got a look-in.

Already this term there has been talk of the 19 year-old Belgian being loaned out, but his performance, against the Seattle Sounders in the early hours of Thursday morning, may well have given Roberto Di Matteo food for thought.

Lukaku scored twice and provided glimpses of why he`s tipped for great things and afterwards, when interviewed by Chelsea TV, the striker hinted that he didn`t really see eye-to-eye with Andre Villas-Boas and prefers Roberto, when he commented,

“Those goals have been a long time coming. Last season was very difficult for me.”

“But now it`s back to zero and if you have a good manager behind you, like I do now with Roberto Di Matteo, it`s the perfect situation. I`m confident and sure I can do well.”

Well let`s hope so, we could do with some serious return on our investment.
