A Return Home Beckons For Chelsea’s Spanish Midfielder

|

Although the opening of the January transfer window is still a fair way off, it hasn’t stopped press speculation from appearing implying who might be set to arrive at Stamford Bridge or who is likely to depart.

Today, the inference is given by the popular tabloid publication, the Mirror, that Cesc Fabregas’ Chelsea career could be set to come to an end.

Fabregas who has rarely featured this season under the managerial acumen of Maurizio Sarri is being linked with a return to La Liga with Atletico Madrid said to be interested in acquiring his services.

Although Fabregas has hinted he is enjoying life at Chelsea, with Sarri in charge, the Spaniard is realistic enough to acknowledge that with Sarri preferring to select his midfield trio from the quartet of Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic and Barkley, his appearances could be limited to cameo roles in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

A possible move to Atletico Madrid would see Fabregas reunited with Diego Costa whilst also giving him the opportunity to not only return to his homeland but also get the regular football he obviously wants at this stage of his career.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’ll endeavour to keep you informed of any developments.
