Abramovich Running Out Of Time

When tiny Midgtyland beat Man United in the Europa League, United CEO Ed Woodward nearly had a cardiac.

Not for the reasons you might think: hapless United manager Louis Van Gaal was already a thing of the past in Woodward`s mind.

No, what panicked the United CEO, according to The Sun, was that José Mourinho had been spotted in Milan.

Not only was Mourinho in Milan but he was there to watch Inter Milan play Sampdoria today (they won 3-1, second win in the last eight.)

According to The Sun, Woodward made a panicked call to Mourinho to ensure that he wasn`t getting cold feet over his ‘deal` with Man United in favor of his former team.

Mourinho went as far as to publicly reassure his boss-to-be in a statement to Italian papers soon afterwards.

None of these tawdry goings on are fun for the Chelsea faithful as it increasingly seems that the once Special One`s fury with the club once allegedly so close to his heart is such that he is fully ready to take the one step that will turn him from special to eternally despised.

It seems that there is only one possible remedy to what will otherwise torture the Chelsea faithful – and in the opinions of many Abramovich himself – for years to come: admit you were wrong Roman, say sorry, and get him back before those last grains of sand tumble to the bottom of the hourglass.

Console yourself with the knowledge that it`s not personal, just business.
