The fallout continues from Chelsea`s weekend loss at home to Tottenham, with Antonio Conte at an impasse with the Chelsea board speculation continues as to what happens next in West London.

Respected Telegraph journalist, and keen Chelsea watcher Matt Law, has written an article suggesting Roman Abramovich will take a more hands-on approach to club matters this summer. The impression is, he already does that in spades. For someone so ‘in-the-know` as Law, it`s still all if`s and but`s.

The clandestine approach the Chelsea hierarchy take, as they stumble onwards, makes it very difficult to second guess the future. The article goes on to say the future of Courtois and Hazard are dependent on Chelsea achieving Champions League football. Quite why they should expect that when they have been as culpable as anyone for this season`s failings, is another Chelsea mystery.

Pedro, Fabregas, Cahill and Luiz will all have just one year left on their current contracts come the summer. On current form, would they be a loss to the club, probably not.

Two loanees, Kurt Zouma and Michy Batshuayi may or may not come back to the club after their spells away, subject to the new manager wanting them. It`s all pie in the sky.

One thing we can say, after Conte`s reluctance to play any part in Sunday`s defeat, he is begging to be fired. Of course, he`ll say he wants to stay but he`s in danger of becoming damaged goods. Chelsea`s supporters are a loyal bunch, but how long they can tolerate the Italian`s petulance may become apparent sooner rather than later, if it carries on.
