Chelsea Lining Up Another Italian

Antonio Conte is finding himself increasingly isolated as Chelsea continue to falter in 2018. Nineteen games across all competitions have resulted in six wins, six draws and seven defeats.

That`s an unprecedented run for a Chelsea manager still gainfully employed. In Premier League terms that`s just three wins, two draws and five defeats in a slump that has seen us go from knocking on the door of second place, to crawling away with our tail between our legs.

If the media moguls are to be believed though, there are no shortage of takers for the vacancy should it come. Latest in line is the current Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri, who has stated to his superiors, his intention to experience a spell managing away from his homeland.

According to an ‘exclusive` in The Sun, Allegri will quit Juventus when Conte is fired. There’s little chance of Conte leaving before the season’s done though as Roman Abramovich is not keen on the £9.6m payout that sacking him would bring. It could also be argued that while there`s still a chance of silverware in the form of an FA Cup, a managerial change now would be pointless anyway.

Whoever comes in is going to have a busy summer trying to work with an employer who is not really a team player. The real mystery in this, is why they keep coming. And so the cycle continues.
