Carlton Spurs Bound!

After entertaining the media yesterday afternoon, one of those players José suggested would be leaving could be on the verge of a move.

Carlton Cole, who has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea this season, could be on the verge of a £1million move north to Tottenham Hotspur.

It is understood that Martin Jol is keen toad the striker to his squad as back up for the recently signed Bulgarian international, Dimitar Berbatov. With Jol having apparently told the Egyptian striker Mido that he will not be signed permanently, Carlton could find himself competing with Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe for a first team place.

Indeed, the only probably sticking point could be the fact that in moving to N17 Carlton may find himself in a similar situation to which he finds himself in now, namely, the number of first team appearances he would make.

There were many who felt that Carlton could establish himself at Chelsea this season. With Didier Drogba away on African Nations Cup duty for a considerable period, the chance was there. Sadly, it never quite happened for the striker once christened by Claudio Ranieri as his young lion.

If Tottenham is to be his likely destination we?d like to wish Carlton well in his new surroundings even if it is done through clenched teeth.
