After winning thirteen home games on the trot and having opened up a ten-point lead at the top of the Premier League, today was supposed to see Chelsea take another three points and move a step closer to the title.
Unfortunately Crystal Palace hadn`t read the script and despite Fabregas giving Chelsea an early lead it was the team from South London that took the three points on offer.
After the game Antonio Conte gave his thoughts to the media, commenting,
‘This is football. We must accept this result.
‘We scored our goal after five minutes and then we conceded two in a few minutes. When you concede goals in that way you must understand the situation and improve on these mistakes.
‘In every game in England, anything can happen. The league is so strong. We faced a team today with strong players. I think they showed they were a good team.
‘Now we have to think about the next game. If we had won we would have been happy but now it’s important to focus on Manchester City.’
A win is a must against Manchester City otherwise the pundits will be talking up the chances of this Chelsea side falling short of the finishing line.
