Chelsea got back to winning ways at Stamford Bridge with a 3-0 win over bottom of the table West Bromwich Albion.

After the unexpected losses to Bournemouth (h) and Watford (a), the victory has eased the pressure on the under-fire Antonio Conte whilst also lifting Chelsea back up into one of those valuable top-four places.

Following the comfortable victory, Antonio Conte spoke to the media with the Italian having this to say,

‘It was important to get three points, especially after two defeats. The two bad defeats brought our confidence down and it was important to win and score three goals and keep a clean sheet.

‘To lose two games in a row in the league you feel confidence is going down. At the same time we have to try and avoid these situations and play our football.

‘We have to try and face this situation and be men and overcome this situation.’

With an FA Cup game, against Hull City, this Friday, the opportunity exists to get a winning run together before we welcome Barcelona to Stamford Bridge, for a Champions League game.

As for Alan Pardew, who saw his side lose and remain adrift at the bottom of the table, the West Brom boss had this to say,

‘If we can get two or three wins in our next group of games we can put pressure on the other teams.

‘When you go to a top six team who are wounded a little bit, we had a great chance to hurt them. We missed a great chance and five minutes later we were 1-0 down.

‘We just couldn’t hurt them. Once they got the second goal you could see the relief in the team and the crowd.’

On the evidence of recent results, with West Brom having only won once in their last twenty-five Premier League games, you have to feat for their Premier League future.
