With the press insistent that Antonio Conte`s future, at Chelsea Football Club, is shrouded in doubt, the home support showed their affection for the Italian last night.
After two bad defeats, in the Premier League, those inside the ground showed they remain loyal to the boss who took us to Premier League title glory and also so close to a unique double, by welcoming Conte with a vociferous chanting of his name.
Throughout the ninety-minutes, the chant was repeated on a regular basis with Conte, in his post-match interview, offering his thanks, remarking,
‘I have to thank the fans because they showed me great support.
‘They are reading speculation and rumours on me and I’m grateful to the fans.
‘It means they understand my passion, my will to defend this colour, this shirt, this badge.
‘I have to live with this pressure until the end of the season. I don’t want this pressure to weigh on the shoulders of my players.’
