Chelsea Centre Back Prepared To Stay And Fight For His Place At The Club

|

After being part of the England World Cup squad, the start of the 2018 / 2019 Premier League season has been disappointing for Gary Cahill.

The 32-year-old centre-back has yet to feature in any of the three games Chelsea have played so far this season.

Last week, as covered by Vital Chelsea, Click Here, the suggestion was being bandied about that Cahill could be set to leave Stamford Bridge with Turkey being mentioned as a possible destination.

However, it seems that Cahill has no intention of leaving Chelsea Football Club and according to the respected news source, the Telegraph is set to stay with the club and fight for a place in the side.

Although Cahill’s advancing years may count against him as far as a long-term future with the club is concerned, he still has something to offer.

Last season, after an up and down first half of the season, Cahill regained his place in the side and his performances were good enough to see him force his way back into the England World Cup squad.

With the central defensive partnership of Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz looking far from solid, Cahill has every right to believe that he can force his way back into Maurizio Sarri’s thinking.
