And so it came to pass, Chelsea perhaps did end up ruing not finishing top of their Champions League group.

After finishing behind Roma, Chelsea were left with just three teams they could be drawn against in the draw for the first knockout round – Besitkas, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

At the draw today, held in Nyon, Switzerland, you just knew that Chelsea wouldn`t be drawn against the Turkish side, you also knew that it might be, but probably wouldn`t be, Paris Saint-Germain.

But I bet you had an inkling that when it came down to those balls being opened you just knew that Chelsea would be drawn with Barcelona, and that proved to be exactly the case.

Barcelona will be a huge test, the Catalan giants have yet to lose a game in any competition this season.

However, it does give the likes of Pedro and Fabregas the chance to play against the club they used to play for.

And, if Barcelona tuned in to coverage of our away fixture against West Ham United, on Saturday, they`ll be quaking in their boots (not)!
