Chelsea Forward Determined To Stay At The Club And Chase Some Silverware

|

It is intriguing to see how quickly a scenario can change in football in a relatively short time.

Take the case of our French forward, Olivier Giroud.

Six weeks ago, I would have bet that the 34-year-old World Cup winner, deprived of regular first team action at Stamford Bridge, would have been a cert to move on during this January transfer window.

But a burst of starts, accompanied by several goals, has altered the scenario completely.

Now I would be extremely surprised if Chelsea were to allow Giroud to move on, especially with Timo Werner having, hopefully temporarily, lost his scoring touch.

Staying at Stamford Bridge also appears to be what Giroud wants.

In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Olivier not only re-iterates that he wants to stay at Chelsea but that he also wants to stay and win some silverware with us.

Now, I do not know about you, but I am of the firm belief that Giroud should be a regular starter for Chelsea.

The manner in which he can hold up the play and bring others into the game coupled with his remarkable natural scoring ability puts him, in my opinion, ahead of Tammy Abraham when it comes to leading the line.

Is that a view you concur with or would you beg to differ?
