As we wait patiently for the International break to come to an end, our Ladies team has been action again.

The Chelsea Ladies entertained Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Women`s Champions League round of thirty-two tie.

The fixture against the German giants was held at Kingsmeadow and Chelsea Ladies were looking to get a result having been knocked out of the competition on two previous occasions at the hands of Wolfsburg.

As it turned out Chelsea Ladies got a valuable win, courtesy of a goal from Drew Spence in the 10th minute.

It was a real backs-to-the-wall job in the second-half with Bayern dominating the game.

The German side missed several chances to grab an away goal with the Chelsea Ladies Swedish goalkeeper, Hedvig Lindahl, producing some decent saves.

The 1-0 win gives the Chelsea Ladies the edge as they prepare to travel to Germany for the return leg on Wednesday 11 October.
