Another fine win keeps the Chelsea Ladies side top of the table.

After the previous two games had both ended in 6-0 victories for Chelsea Ladies, this game was a bit closer, although the margin of victory should have been greater.

The game was settled in the 14th minute when a decent finish from Maren Mjelde, from fifteen yards out, gave Chelsea the lead.

The Ladies had further opportunities to score and increase the lead but the likes of Karen Carney and Ji So-yun just couldn`t provide the finish needed.

Going into the half-time break a goal to the good, Chelsea Ladies were to dominate the second forty-five minutes but without adding to the score-line.

Chances fell to Karen Carney and Maren Mjelde but although both went close the net didn`t ripple.

Liverpool Ladies, who have now not scored in their last two games, didn`t create many chances with probably the best falling to Jess Clarke, but when put through on goal a poor touch saw the chance disappear.

Onwards and upwards for Chelsea Ladies.
