Reports emerging in a popular tabloid publication suggest that Chelsea Football Club are interested in a young Spanish defender.

According to the good folk of the Daily Star, Chelsea are taking a keen interest in Jorge Mere.

The 19-year-old centre-back is currently on the books of Sporting Gijon and has a release clause in his contract of £25 million,

Already the teenager has played for the Spanish U21 side and reports suggest he is tipped to become a full-international soon.
