It would appear, if the transfer speculation is correct, you can never have enough young centre-backs.

With John Terry now history and with Gary Cahill struggling to perform up to the levels some at Vital Chelsea would expect of him, Andreas Christensen is fast emerging as the ideal candidate to become a main-stay at the heart of our defence.

Not forgetting we also have Kurt Zouma on loan at Stoke City, where Mark Hughes has described him as a £40 million player. Plus, just down the road at Craven Cottage, there`s also a certain Thomas Kalas also out on loan.

But that hasn`t stopped speculation appearing in the media source Teamtalk, from suggesting that Chelsea are keeping a watchful eye on a young centre-back in the Championship.

The centre back in question is Dael Fry, who is on the books of Middlesbrough.

Fry, just 20-years-of-age, us an England U21 centre-back who, so our source reckons, is also being monitored by Manchester United.

But, the big question is, do we really need another centre-back of that age group?
