Chelsea Set To Strike Whilst The Iron Is Hot

|

The long-term future of Eden Hazard continues to generate column inches.

It’s a topic that all Chelsea supporters are interested in.

To lose the jewel in the Stamford Bridge crown would be devastating but we’re all knowledgeable enough to accept that the Belgian superstar could opt for a career, sometime down the line with Real Madrid.

However, as you may have realised, things are not running to plan at the Bernabeu at the moment.

After a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Barcelona, a game in which our former keeper Thibaut Courtois, got backache picking the ball out of the back of the net, Real Madrid opted to dispense with the services of their manager, Julen Lopetegui.

Recent form has seen the famous club slide down the La Liga table, something that whoever takes on the managerial role on a permanent basis will have to correct.

Amongst those said to be considered for the position are Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pochettino.

But, according to the news source, the Telegraph, uncertainty at the famous club could play right into Chelsea’s hands.

Our source is reporting that Chelsea are set to open contract talks with Eden with a view to tying him to the club whilst also offering the 27-year-old the club captaincy.

Previously, Eden has openly admitted that he is torn about staying at Stamford Bridge or moving to the Bernabeu, hopefully, Chelsea can swing the decision in their favour.
