Speculation, back when the summer transfer window, linked Chelsea with making a move for the Bayern Munich forward, Thomas Muller.

It was a piece of speculation that we covered, Click Here.

However, whilst some dismissed the idea of Muller leaving the Allianz Arena, it would appear that the idea of Muller leaving the Bavarian cub has arisen before.

Lurking in the local media vehicle, the Manchester Evening News, who have picked up on an interview that Muller gave to the media vehicle Kicker, the 27-year-old has admitted he could have moved to our Premier League rivals, Manchester United, with Muller remarking,

‘There was a stage when the subject arose two years ago when I considered it, but then the club immediately backed me and I was told I belong here.

‘I didn’t have to think about it a great deal after Bayern said we are counting on you and that you are an important man for us.’

But, moving on, any hopes Chelsea have of possibly bringing the player to West London, as mentioned in our linked article, Click Here, is buoyed by the fact Muller, following the sale of Bastian Schweinsteiger, readily accepts that his time at the Allianz Arena could come to an end, with Muller further remarking,

‘Of course, it’s possible.

‘When my time is up, it’s up. Schweinsteiger was here for over 10 years and now he’s been gone for over two years and another player is here instead.

‘It will be exactly the same with me. If I drop dead tomorrow, there will be a funeral, yet on Friday, 11 players will still be out on the pitch. That’s life.”

However, you have to ask yourself, when considering if Chelsea`s interest is / was genuine, whether somebody who scored just 5 goals last season, in the Bundesliga, would seriously interest us.

Your opinions in our comments facility beneath this article would be most welcome.
