Chelsea Will Not Repeat Past Mistakes

|

This season we’ve watched on as two former Chelsea players have shown that they belong in the world-class category.

Mo Salah and Kevin De Bruyne have been outstanding for their clubs and it still puzzles Chelsea supporters why the duo were allowed to leave Chelsea when they were.

However, it appears that the club are not prepared to repeat the obvious error made in under-estimating what Salah and De Bruyne had to offer.

The good folk of the Standard are reporting that Chelsea will not sell the duo of Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko, both of whom were signed last summer.

The latter, Bakayoko, arrived at Stamford Bridge, from Monaco, for a fee of £39.7 million. The Frenchman, despite having a dominant season at Monaco prior to his transfer, hasn’t had the best of seasons with Chelsea. In an out of the team, Bakayoko has found life difficult in the Premier League.

However, it should be remembered that the 23-year-old had a knee injury when he arrived and was recuperating from a summer operation.

As for Morata, he too arrived in the summer, from Real Madrid, for a fee of £57 million. Despite being in and out of the side, in recent fixtures, 25-year-old Morata has scored 15 goals in his first season with Chelsea.

Therefore, whilst Monaco would like to re-sign Bakayoko and Juventus would be interested in Morata, Chelsea will resist all overtures and will give the duo time to flourish and fulfil their promise, which is pleasing to hear.

However, our referenced source stresses that stance could change if either player expresses a desire to leave Chelsea Football Club.
