Captain, Leader, Legend, Set for Chelsea Return?

|

Last summer, with his contract at an end, John Terry bade farewell, with a heavy heart, to Chelsea Football Club.

Terry, after being a one-club man, had to make the difficult decision as to whether to hang his boots up or retire.

As it turned out, John opted to continue to play and dropped into the Championship, signing a one-year deal with Aston Villa.

Immediately after putting pen-to-paper, I advised the Aston Villa supporters in the Vital Community not to pre-judge John but to allow him to show them just how much he can bring to a club.

Here at Vital Chelsea we’re pleased to report that John did prove himself at Villa Park and has established a decent relationship with the support.

As the 2017 / 2018 season starts to reach a conclusion, Aston Villa are in with a chance of regaining their Premier League status, if they can successfully navigate the play-offs.

John, aware his one-year deal is coming to an end, has a difficult decision to make for the second consecutive season.

But, talking to the media vehicle, talksport, it seems very likely that John will sign on the dotted line, at Villa Park, for a second season, with John, in an interview with our referenced source, remarking,

“I still have the appetite and hunger for sure. I just want to get this season finished.

“My aim at the start of the season was to get us up, whether that was automatic or via the play-offs.

“One last push and hopefully we can go out with a bang and make it an easy decision at the end.

“Chelsea will always be my club for sure but since I have been at Aston Villa, I have given my all and the fans have been superb with me. They have welcomed me with open arms and I like to think I have given back on the pitch and on the training field.”

He goes on to say that Aston Villa really is set up to be a Premiership outfit, explaining “it is huge”, and praises how the fans, the club and the manager have been with him following his move.

It would be good to see Aston Villa, a sleeping giant of football awoken, but I’m not sure how I’d feel about John running out at Stamford Bridge in the claret and blue of Aston Villa.
