On Saturday, against Manchester City, Michy Batshuayi was ignored when it came to be utilised as a substitute when Alvaro Morata was forced off with a hamstring injury.

Instead, Antonio Conte chose to bring Willian on and operate with a front two of Willian and Hazard.

The duo failed to make inroads against a Manchester City defence that rarely looked in trouble.

Only when it became a do-or-die situation, with Chelsea trying desperately to grab an equaliser and rescue appoint form the game did Conte choose to introduce Michy Batshuayi.

Now with Morata likely to be out for a period of time, it remains to be seen whether Conte chooses to use the Belgian centre-forward who, to be perfectly honest had scored some very crucial goals for Chelsea in recent times, or opt for a Plan B.

However, far from feeling down-trod about what happened on Saturday, Batshuayi remains confident that he isn`t out-of-favour with Conte and that he will get a chance to show what he can do.

This morning, the popular tabloid publication, The Sun, has an article whereby they offer a few quotes from Batshuayi which read,

“I really think Conte believes in me otherwise he could have said I could leave in the transfer window.

“I know I will get more opportunities to play and it is up to me to show that I am capable.

“This is an important moment in my career.”

Indeed it is, step forward young man and show them what you can do!
