Chelsea`s ladies take centre stage today as they begin their quest to make it to the quarter-finals of the Women`s Champions League. Emma Hayes side face Swedish outfit Rosengard in the first-leg of the round-of-sixteen at their Kingsmeadow home.

Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in the previous round, with Fran Kirby`s away goal in Germany. Ahead of this evening`s game Millie Bright has been speaking exclusively to the Evening Standard,

`[There is] a little bit of pressure but that comes with football. Pressure is always in the back of your mind but that’s the pressure that drives you on and makes you perform to the best you can be.`

`We’re all aware of that pressure but it’s also the excitement that brings out the best in players. If we control that pressure and don’t let it get to us we can go to the final.`

If Chelsea can take the domestic form into the game, there should be no problems at all. In six Women`s Super League games, Hayes side have scored an impressive 24 goals and conceded just 1 so far this season. As a defender Bright spoke about the need for a clean sheet,

`Defensively we’ve been solid, so that’s our mentality – we want to keep a clean sheet.`

`Our counter attack has been massive but we’ve also been scoring goals so there’ll be opportunities and spaces going forward so hopefully we can exploit them.`

The game kicks-off at 7pm tonight and here at Vital Chelsea we would like to take the opportunity to wish them good luck. We`ll update you later on how the game goes.
