With Antonio Conte having been, as the press are calling it, a stay of execution, with Chelsea, thankfully, not willing to wield the axe whilst the club are still in the Champions League and the FA Cup whilst also lying fourth in the Premier League, speculation is still rife that Luis Enrique is the preferred next occupant of the Chelsea hot-seat.
Over in Spain, the Spanish news source, Sport, continues to champion the suggestion that Roman Abramovich has the former Barcelona boss at the top of his next wish-list.
But, elsewhere, another news source, Goal, perhaps offers a plausible reason why Chelsea haven`t wielded the axe yet.
This referenced source, suggests that Enrique wouldn`t be interested in taking on the role mid-season and would only consider the move in the summer. The Spaniard, it seems, isn`t keen to disrupt his year-long sabbatical from the game, after deciding to leave his position, at the Nou Camp, last May.
