Ex-Premier League Star Urges This Transfer Target To Choose Chelsea

|

Today, we’ve already covered the possibility of Chelsea pulling off something of a transfer coup by signing Timo Werner, from RB Leipzig, but could Chelsea be set to make another spectacular raid on the Bundesliga?

The signing of Timo Werner, as reported earlier – chelsea-deal-for-striker-almost-but-not-quite-done – appears to be almost done, but the deal for his German international team-mate, Kai Havertz, is still in its infancy.

But somebody who has experience of playing in the Premier League, Dietmar Hamman, is, as reported by The Mirror urging 21-year-old Havertz, if he does leave Bayer Leverkusen, to join Chelsea as opposed to Manchester United, remarking:

“United has lost its appeal in recent years.

“They have been the measure of things for many years, they are still the largest club in England, but they have major internal problems.

“Perspective is important for a player, but Manchester has been in a vacuum for years.

“On the other hand, if I look at Chelsea, they have a coach with Frank Lampard who did a great job for the club as a player – and I have the feeling that the Blues are growing again.

“For the first time in a long time, you have a team with which the fans can really identify. If a Timo Werner or possibly a Kai Havertz were to be added, it would be an incredibly exciting and interesting story.

“If I think about where I see the clubs now and in two or three years, the decision for Chelsea would be a relatively easy one for me as a player.”

Some heart-warming words there, but can we really hope to see both Timo Werner and Kai Havertz in Chelsea shirts next season?

We can only hope so as both are hugely exciting players who would take Chelsea to another level.
