The 2017 FA Youth Cup Final remains delicately poised after the first leg last night at the Academy Stadium, in Manchester.

A 1-1 draw will have both teams believing that they are capable of lifting the cup at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, next week.

Chelsea, who have dominated the competition in recent years, will have home advantage, but, after last night, they`ll know they are up against a Manchester City side who are quick, strong and skilful.

Chelsea took the lead on the brink of half time when Callum-Hudson Odoi reacted far quicker than his marker to provide the perfect pass for Ike Ugbo to score.

But City came out the stronger side after the break with Chelsea looking to take the slim-lead back to Stamford Bridge for the second leg.

Unfortunately for the young Blues they were to concede an equaliser when some good work from Jadon Sancho found Phil Foden and the youngster coolly slotted the ball past the Chelsea keeper.

City had their own keeper, Aro Muric, for keeping the score at 1-1 with the man between the posts producing several good saves to deny Chelsea a first-leg lead.

All to play for at Stamford Bridge next Wednesday and Jody Morris will, no doubt, be fine-tuning his young side to ensure the FA Youth Cup remains at Stamford Bridge.
