Claudio Ranieri often gives off the impression that reminds people of their genial granddad from when they were younger.

The Italian has a certain aura about him that makes it impossible to not like him.

Here at Vital Chelsea we`ll be forever grateful for the work he did at the club, putting together a side that was on the verge of winning the Premier League and assisting in getting us in to the Champions League, despite being labelled a ‘Deadman Walking` after Roman Abramovich.

That night, at Highbury, when Ranieri shed tears after that wonderful goal from Wayne Bridge had knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League (during their unbeatable season) showed just how much he cared for our club.

Even after he left, the good work he done in the transfer market stood us in good stead and tell me you didn`t shed a tear of two when, not that long ago, you watched him lift the Premier League trophy with Leicester City.

Today, lurking in the popular French news source, L`Equipe, is the suggestion that Ranieri could be the choice to manage the Italian national team.

Seemingly, his current club Nantes have inferred that they will not stand in Claudio`s way if he is approached to take over the vacant role.

If that is the case and the role becomes his, what a perfect way to end a career whereby his achievements have helped so many to experience the ultimate dream.
