It’s interesting to watch on as several of those who served Chelsea Football Club in a playing capacity are now venturing towards, hopefully, successful managerial careers.
Already, ahead of the 2018 / 2019 season starting, we’ve seen Frank Lampard take the plunge and take on the managerial position at the Championship side, Derby County.
Since the season begun, we’ve also witnessed John Terry confirm he’s hung up his boots and has started his managerial journey as the assistant to Dean Smith, the new incumbent of the managerial hot-seat at another Championship club, Aston Villa.
Today, appearing in the media is the insinuation that another player from the Terry / Lampard era, is on the verge of moving into a role that leads down the managerial path.
According to the French media source, lequipe, Nicolas Anelka has held talks with Lille with regards to becoming a youth team coach at the club.
Lille, is, of course, the club that nurtured Eden Hazard, a player who is now amongst the very best in the world.
Could Anelka, if he’s given the post, unearth another gem?
Here at Vital Chelsea, we’ll keep a close eye on the developing situation and report back as deemed necessary.
