Breaking: Having collated most of today`s tittle-tattle for one day, news has, this evening broken of a late bid by Chelsea for Alexis Sanchez. I`d generally take that with a pinch of salt, but the source is a good one. Manchester Evening News correspondent James Robson has broken it.

The actual story can be found here. Strange this story breaks while United are playing. Marina must have covertly sneaked into Sanchez`s Manchester hotel while the United mob are at the game and done the deal. Good work, Marina. We shall see, it will no doubt be denied within minutes.

Another day of no actual transfer dealings for Chelsea. So, it`s just down to picking through the media dregs for a hint of new face rocking up to Cobham.

There are just two words that sum up todays transfer tittle-tattle. Andy Carroll, as we reported earlier, is Chelsea`s no.1 target in their quest for a new striker. With Antonio Conte appearing to have no faith whatsoever, in Michy Batshuayi, the West Ham striker does offer Conte something different.

He at least has a scoring pedigree in the Premier League. Carroll`s 195 PL appearances have resulted in 52 goals and 25 assists. Those stats according to Transfermarkt as are the injury stats which show Carroll has missed 1,160 days through injury since 2008-09. That`s over 3 Years in the physio room.

Chelsea are believed to only be after a 6 month loan according to the The Evening Standard, but the Hammers, see themselves as players, and figure it`s a sellers market and are hoping to secure a tidy sum for the 29 year-old.

Should Carroll find himself at Chelsea, it gives Michy Batshuayi the chance to grab some valuable game time ahead of the summer`s world cup elsewhere. Sources at The Daily Star claim, as we have previously here, that Sevilla are keen to get the Batman on loan. Both strikers will be keen to secure their respective moves to new clubs as they look for a fresh start.

Two Chelsea youngsters, have caught Brendan Rodgers` eye at Celtic. Charly Musonda and Lewis Baker are seen as a good fit for the Scottish Champions. Musonda, they would buy or loan, but Baker, who is likely to see his loan spell at Middlesborough cut short, due to a lack of playing time, would probably go off on loan. Having recently extended Musonda`s contract, it`s unlikely the Belgian youngster would make a permanent switch this early in his career.

Just to finish, here`s the future, Callum Hudson-Odoi take a bow?..

That`s all for tonight, let`s hope the Sanchez deal is still running tomorrow, you can out at 10pm tomorrow.
