Speculation emerged yesterday, implying that a reputed Chelsea target was looking to leave his current club.

The player in question being the West Ham United full back-cum-winger Michail Antonio.

Seemingly the player as a trifle miffed at the fact West Ham`s recent recruits, Robert Snodgrass and Jose Fonte, were on higher salaries than he was. There was also the suggestion that the player wasn`t happy with the treatment he recently received over a hamstring injury that has seen him side-lined for the remainder of the season.

Today though, it seems that any attempt Chelsea may make to lure the player from the London Stadium to Stamford Bridge could be a difficult one.

According to the Daily Mirror, 27-year-old Antonio has been told that he is going nowhere and the salary issue will be sorted by offering the player double his current salary.

It remains to be see if this appeases the player and he stays at West Ham or decides to press for a move.
