Chelsea are represented in the latest Premier League team of the week that has been selected by BBC pundit Garth Crooks.

Actually Garth is now down as a ‘Football Analyst’ these days, a posh term for a pundit then!

The performance by Eden Hazard in the four nil victory over West Bromwich Albion at the weekend at The Hawthorns was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other, in the opinion of the former Spurs striker anyway, most impressive performers in the topflight over the latest weekend.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Crooks, we’ll also not argue with it, selected Hazard as part of his team but explaining his choice he told the BBC.

‘Eden Hazard was electric throughout this encounter. I never saw Hazard as a second striker but that is the way he is playing at the moment. I do not think he has ever looked so dangerous. He is certainly looking extremely effective alongside Alvaro Morata. I saw the beginnings of this partnership against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge recently but did not make too much of it as I thought it just happened by stealth. However, having seen it again against West Brom, I am beginning to take the view that both players are looking for each other quite openly. I have already remarked this season about the impact on Chelsea losing a player like Diego Costa. However, manager Antonio Conte may have been forced to find a new system to accommodate Morata and found two strikers at the expense of one. It looks like it is working.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Hazard for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.
