The draw last night, against Atletico Madrid, coupled with Roma`s narrow 1-0 win over FK Qarabag, means that Chelsea finished second in Group C of the Champions League.

Although Chelsea were level on points with Roma and had a superior goal difference, the fact that Roma fared better in the head-to-head matches means the Italian side take top spot and are seeded in the draw for the next round, in Nyon, on Monday.

Finishing second in the group and with four other English sides left in the competition, means that the opponents Chelsea can be drawn against in the next round are very limited.

In fact, Chelsea can only be drawn against three sides – Barcelona, Besiktas or Paris Saint Germain.

However, the fact that it might quite not have gone to plan tonight hasn`t fazed Eden Hazard who, after the 1-1 draw last night, had this to say,

‘It’s not a problem who we get, we are Chelsea.

‘We know PSG and Barcelona are very good but we are a top team too. We can do anything.’

They say you have to beat the best in Europe to win the Champions League and that appears to be the way the cookie is crumbling for Chelsea this season!
