In our latest poll pertaining to the 2005-2006 title winning squad, we asked you to select a front three in our favoured 4-3-3 formation.
Looking at the results, it?s clear to see that we had a clear winner, Cole, Drogba and Robben with a massive 55% of the vote. In second place was the trio of Cole, Crespo and Robben with 21% of the vote.
Clearly, the overwhelming majority, some 76% favoured having Cole and Robben on the flanks with the only decision to be made being who to in the middle with Drogba winning.
Here in the office we suspected that the voting would be a little closer considering the esteem with which both players are held by the Chelsea faithful. Drogba, after a shaky period endeared himself to the faithful with some fantastic displays towards the end of the season whilst Crespo has always had a special relationship with the supporters.
In the remainder of the options, Cole established himself as the clear candidate for a place on the flanks polling 9% when paired with Drogba and Duff and 6% when paired with Crespo and Duff. Surprisingly, trios devoid of Cole but including Robben and Duff and either Drogba or Crespo scored very poorly polling a meagre 5% and 4% only.
That leaves usw ith an outfield ten, chose by you of
Ferreira, Terry, Gallas, Bridge, Makelele, Lampard, Essien, Cole, Drogba and Robben.
All it leaves now is to vote for the obvious – the keeper!
