Recent speculation and transfer tittle-tattle that we covered, suggested that Chelsea were one of a number of clubs that were interested in acquiring, this coming summer, a world-class striker.
The striker in question being the Polish international Robert Lewandowski.
Currently on the books of the Bavarian giants, Bayern Munich, the 29-year-old had hinted that this summer would be the time to try a new adventure.
When the speculation appeared in the media our view was that Chelsea`s chances of landing the player were slim.
It appears that assumption was correct.
According to the Spanish news source, Mundodeportivo, the prolific striker has decided to ignore the charms that a move to either Chelsea or Manchester United might bring in favour of a move to Real Madrid.
Although nothing is definite yet, our referenced source is reporting that a move in principle, has been agreed.
Time to look elsewhere methinks.
